Product description
The NCS Index 2050 is the most widely used colour fan of the Natural Colour System®. The fan contains all 2050 standard colours, arranged by hue and nuance.
The first section brings together white, grey and black, so you can find neutral colours quickly. The colours then follow in the order of the NCS colour circle. Each page shows 4 to 10 colours with their NCS code, spread over 233 pages. The samples are 22 mm wide; the top sample is 26 mm.
The fan is made for daily use by architects, interior designers, painters, colour consultants and paint manufacturers.
Since 2022, the NCS standard has comprised 2050 colours: 100 more than the NCS 1950 collection. It is still the second edition of NCS; the codes of the existing colours have remained the same.

What is the difference between the NCS Index 2050 and the NCS Atlas 2050?
Both contain all 2050 standard colours. The Index is a colour fan for searching quickly and taking with you. The Atlas shows the complete NCS triangle for each hue on a large page, so you can see how colours relate to one another. The Index is for daily work, the Atlas for analysis and education.
How does the NCS Index 2050 compare with older 1950 editions?
The NCS Index 2050 contains the 1950 colours of the previous colour fans plus the 100 standard colours that NCS added in 2022, mainly light colours with low chromaticness. It is still the second edition of NCS: the codes of the existing colours have remained the same.
Can the Index 2050 be used to match material or paint samples?
Yes. The samples in the Index are intended for visual comparison with materials, paint, textiles or coatings. This makes the Index suitable for architects, designers and manufacturers. For a final choice, we recommend a larger individual colour sample.
